After 4 decades of tweeter based refining and innovation, Polk has introduced the 1” high definition Pinnacle ring radiator tweeter that delivers ultra-clear, crisp highs without unwanted coloration or distortions. No need to go hunting for the acoustic sweet spot, the Pinnacle Tweeter features a finely tuned waveguide that dramatically improves the dispersion of high frequency energy ensuring a broad “sweet spot”.
New 5.25" Turbine Cone
The L800 features a Turbine Cone that has been specifically developed for the Legend series. This turbine cone combines Polk’s proprietary foam cone and molded Turbine geometry which dramatically increases stiffness and damping. This is possible even without adding mass. The result? A smooth, and detailed mid-range with effortless bass.
Better Bass by Design with Enhanced Power port
Unlike traditional bass ports that are prone to noise, the enhanced power port on the L800 allows a smooth transition of airflow from the speaker for cleaner, detailed and deeper bass minus the distortion.
Polk’s refined Power Port technology is specifically designed for the Legend series. The enhanced power port produces less port noise and delivers a more powerful clean bass than traditionally ported loudspeakers. Next Generation Patented SDA-PRO Technology
Featuring next generation patented SDA PRO technology, the L800 is equipped with a 15-degree baffle that angles both the stereo and dimensional arrays. By angling the baffle, Polk Audio has enhanced the quality of the stereo arrays. This allows a narrower speaker (reduced width by 25%) while maintaining the correct width and positioning of the dimensional array.
In a bid to improve interaural crosstalk cancellation, the bandwidth of the dimensional array has been enhanced to match the relevant frequencies of the IAC through the use of paired tweeters in addition to paired mid-woofers. Finally, the L800 employs a special “Head Shadow” filter in the Dimensional array to exactly match the IAC.
Dual-Floor Compatible Feet
The L800 has been customised for improved floor stability and bass coupling. The speaker’s feet are designed for carpet but users are also provided with a rubber boot for hard floors.
